Schedule Waste Storage Area

Overview

From “Lampiran B2” Department of Environment have stated that; Scheduled waste is defined as any waste falling within the categories of waste listed in the First Schedule of the Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations 2005.

There are 77 categories  of scheduled wastes listed under the First Schedule of the Regulations.

The Department of Environment has reviewed the types of scheduled wastes listed under several categories of scheduled wastes and has classified several type of these wastes as non-scheduled waste based on the following consideration:
(a) The waste has been widely used as raw  material to produce product            that is safe to be used;
(b) The waste does not exhibit significant toxic characteristics;
(c) The waste is not classify as hazardous wastes at international level.
